1. submit a noise complaint
A common question is "What can I do about the airport noise problem we’re experiencing in South Charlotte?"
The first thing you should do is file a complaint and urge your neighbors to do the same.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport tabulates the number of complaints by location. Homeowners must take time to get a complaint on record or there will be little incentive for Aviation and FAA officials to acknowledge the negative impact on neighborhoods resulting from the FAA #flynextgen rollout.
Leave a voicemail on the noise complaint hotline 704-359-4327.
2. Contact Your Local Representatives
The next thing to do is write, call, email, tweet, and Facebook message your local elected officials and Federal representatives. Click here for City Council contact info.
Contact Mayor Vi Lyles
Since the changes affecting us were implemented by the FAA, consider reaching out to your Congressional representatives:
County Commissioners or North Carolina reps are not listed because the City of Charlotte owns the airport and the FAA is a Federal agency. However, contacting any elected representative may be of help.
